2.5 million Australians move in with family or friends as cost of living soars
More than one in ten Australians have turned to shared housing in the past year as a way to combat the skyrocketing cost of living, according to new research by Finder. The survey of 1,070 respondents found that 12% of Australians, equivalent to 2.5 million people, have moved into shared housing in the past 12 months.
Number of NEW property listings dip in March following record-breaking February
New property listings across Australia fell 13.6% in March compared to the previous month and were down 8.8% year-on-year, according to the latest PropTrack Listings Report. Anne Flaherty, PropTrack Economist, attributed the slower month to the timing of Easter this year, with the long weekend falling in March instead of April, kick-starting the pre-Easter selling period earlier than usual.
